Safe Streets and Roads for All (SSR4A)

In 2024, HRA, Inc. authored the City of San Juan’s successful $176,000 SS4A grant application to develop a new Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. The awarded funding will support efforts to enhance transportation safety and reduce traffic-related fatalities and injuries in the urban area.

Eight schools in Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD will benefit from a $3.1 million Texas A&M Forest Service Community Forestry Program grant, secured with the help of HRA, Inc. This grant, also supporting the cities of Pharr, San Juan, and Alamo, aims to foster environmental stewardship and educational enrichment across the campuses.

With a $625,000 grant secured by HRA, Inc., the Pharr Police Department will hire five new officers dedicated to a mental health response unit. The grant will fund their salaries over a three-year period, enhancing the department’s capacity to address mental health crises in the community.

FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG)

HRA, Inc. submitted a successful application to FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program on behalf of Sullivan City, Texas, resulting in a $62,201 award under the Operations and Safety category. The funding will support the purchase of essential fire equipment to enhance firefighter safety and emergency response capabilities.

Through a $1 million grant secured by HRA, Inc., the Mission Police Department will hire eight additional officers, expanding their staff to 196. This funding will cover the officers' salaries for the next three years, enhancing public safety and community support.

Through a $1 million grant secured by HRA, Inc., the City of Pharr is making significant strides in closing the digital divide by expanding access to affordable, high-speed internet. With funding from MHM, Pharr's TeamPharr.net has already connected 3,000 homes, helping families thrive in the digital economy.

Securing Public Safety Funding for Texas Communities

Over the past two years, HRA, Inc. has submitted multiple successful grant applications to the Texas Office of the Governor (OOG), including the Border Zone, Criminal Justice Program, SHSP-R, and SHSP-L programs. These efforts have resulted in over $400,000 in funding awarded to various municipalities to support public safety and emergency preparedness initiatives.
